TROY, Ala. (WTVY) - Two people are in the hospital recovering from injuries and an investigation is underway after a shooting in Troy on Wednesday afternoon.
Troy Police officers arrived on scene at around 1:13 p.m. in the 100 block of North Knox Street to a reported shots-fired call, where they the pair of victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
The two individuals were taken from the scene to Troy Regional Medical Center for initial treatment, with both eventually life-flighted to other hospitals in the region. One victim was sent by helicopter to a hospital in Montgomery, while the other was sent to a hospital in Dothan.
Both victims remain hospitalized at this time and are considered in critical condition.
Detectives with the Troy Police Department, with assistance from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, are actively investigating this incident and following up on leads at this time.
