WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump remains in great health and "trusts his physicians," despite concerns that White House doctors possibly missed a prostate cancer diagnosis for former President Joe Biden, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Monday.
Leavitt assured the public that Trump is not worried about the quality of care he receives.
"Not as far as President Trump is concerned. The White House position we have here is phenomenal, and the team of physicians that take care of the president, particularly at Walter Reed Medical Center, are great," she said.
Biden's personal office announced the news on Sunday, saying he was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer.
“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement reads.
Trump took to Truth Social to wish Biden a "fast and successful recovery."
"Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family."
Biden, 82, thanked everyone for the "love and support" on Monday morning alongside a photo of him and Jill with their cat.
"Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken place," the former president wrote on X. "Thank you for lifting us up with love and support."
