WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump claimed early Monday that former President Joe Biden's preemptive pardons for members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee and others were "void, vacant, and of no further force or effect" due to him using an autopen.
"The “Pardons” that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them!"
He went on to state that members of the House committee are "subject to investigation at the highest level."
In the last hours of his presidency, Biden issued preemptive pardons to his family members, Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, former Rep. Liz Cheney and other lawmakers who were part of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Trump told reporters on Air Force One Sunday that he thinks Biden's pardons are null due to the autopen.
“It’s not my decision, that’ll be up to a court,” he said.
In another social media post on Sunday, Trump trolled Biden by sharing three side-by-side images - his official portrait from his first term, a photo of Biden's autopen and then his official portrait for his second term.
"The person who was the real President during the Biden years was the person who controlled the Autopen!" the president wrote on Truth Social Friday.
The Oversight Project, a branch of the Heritage Foundation, recently reported they discovered that the majority of official documents signed by Biden allegedly used the same autopen signature.
"WHOEVER CONTROLLED THE AUTOPEN CONTROLLED THE PRESIDENCY," the Oversight Project wrote on X. "We gathered every document we could find with Biden's signature over the course of his presidency. All used the same autopen signature except for the announcement that the former President was dropping out of the race last year."
