ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The Georgia Secretary of State’s office released new numbers on total voter turnout, reflecting absentee, early, and Election Day voters.
Georgia saw record-breaking voter turnout for a primary election this year with a 27.9% turnout rate. Over 2 million Georgians voted this cycle, according to the Secretary of State’s office.
Locally, Dougherty County had a 25.2% voter turnout rate, with 14,788 voters casting ballots this election.
