Description

TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - A Tifton man who investigators say sold heroin mixed with fentanyl from an outdoor table—keeping a burn barrel nearby to quickly destroy drugs if needed—has been sentenced to federal prison, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Kabryen Sharrod Ross, also known as “Juice,” 33, of Tifton, was sentenced on Thursday, April 2, to 120 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, according to a release from the DOJ.

Senior U.S. District Judge W. Louis Sands imposed the sentence after Ross pled guilty on July 30, 2025, to one count of distribution of fentanyl and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Federal sentences do not include parole.

“Fentanyl dealers endanger the entire community by distributing this lethal and illegal substance,” U.S. Attorney William R. “Will” Keyes said in a statement provided by the DOJ. “The Tift County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI successfully shut down this fentanyl source, saving lives and holding those responsible accountable.”

“The GBI remains committed to stopping the supply of deadly substances like fentanyl into our communities,” GBI Director Chris Hosey said in the DOJ release.

Ross’ co-defendant, Adrian Jarod Stanley, 33, of Tifton, was sentenced Oct. 30, 2025, to 121 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty on July 29, 2025, to one count of distribution of methamphetamine, according to the DOJ.

How investigators say the case unfolded

According to court records cited by the DOJ and statements made in court, an undercover Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent was introduced to Ross, whom authorities identified as a heroin dealer in Tift County.

Investigators said Ross sold heroin—sometimes mixed with fentanyl—from a table near a residence on South Ridge Avenue in Tifton. Authorities said Ross maintained a burn barrel at the location that could be used to destroy drugs quickly, and that he offered discounts or extra heroin in exchange for wood pallets to keep the fire going, according to the DOJ.

Working with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, the undercover agent conducted eight controlled purchases from Ross between March and May 2022, court records state. During the first purchase, agents seized about 0.445 grams of fentanyl mixed with about half a gram of heroin and observed Ross in possession of a Glock handgun, according to the DOJ.

On June 3, 2022, agents executed a search warrant at Ross’ home on Park Avenue South, where they reportedly found fentanyl, other drugs, a loaded Glock and ammunition.
