BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - A family lost their home Sunday when a winter storm destroyed their house.

Octavia Guy said she was not home during the Jan. 25 storm, but her boyfriend and her 15-year-old was inside the home during the time. Her boyfriend was playing video games with a window open when the weather hit.

He said he heard a strong burst of wind that came from what he believes was a tornado. A piece of the ceiling fell and hit him in the head immediately after the wind stopped. He jumped up before the master bedroom ceiling collapsed.

Guy has created a GoFundMe account to help support her family as they search for a new home. Community members who wish to support the family can donate here.
