ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Friday brought fewer showers and storms which allowed summer-like highs low 90s while feeling like upper 90s around 100°.
Over the weekend, heat, humidity and storms crank up. Saturday the hottest of the year so far as highs top low-mid 90s while feeling more like 100° +. Expect some cooling from scattered showers and storms through the afternoon and evening. SPC has outlined our northern counties in a Slight Risk and the rest a Marginal Risk. Some strong storms may become severe with threats of damaging winds, hail, heavy rain and frequent lightning.
Sunday not as hot as scattered showers and storms arrive early and continue into the evening. Highs rise into the upper 80s and feels like mid 90s. Most of SGA outlined in a Slight Risk for another round of potentially strong-severe storms with threats of damaging winds, hail, heavy rain and frequent lightning. Watch for possible flash flooding. Tornado threat low to zero. Stay alert and be ready to seek shelter indoors.
The warm humid airmass remains as unsettled weather continues through the week. Each day scattered showers and storms are likely with highs mid-upper 80s and lows low-mid 70s.
In the tropics, tropical development isn’t expected over the next 7 days.
