SOUTH GEORIGA, (WALB) - Tornado watches and the storm threat have come to an end across the area after a line of strong storms moved through Southwest Georgia early Thursday morning.

The early morning storms left a trail of damage behind, including power outages, road closures, and numerous reports of trees down across several communities. Emergency crews have been working throughout the day to clear debris from roadways and restore power to affected neighborhoods.

The severe weather also impacted several schools across South Georgia, forcing some districts to delay schedules or adjust their morning routines as the storms passed through the region.

While the most dangerous weather has now moved out of the area, officials continue to assess storm damage and encourage residents to remain cautious while traveling, especially in areas where debris or downed trees may still be present.

Utility crews and local agencies are continuing cleanup efforts as communities recover from the early morning storms. Residents are also urged to report any additional storm damage to local authorities.
