Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Overcast with areas of fog and seasonably cool highs low 60s on Friday. We’re sliding into the final weekend of 2024 with more active weather on tap. Tonight widespread fog reduces visibility to less than a 1/4 Saturday morning. Otherwise clouds linger with scattered showers and storms through the afternoon and early evening as highs top low-mid 70s.
More active weather arrives early Sunday as a squall line enter SGA. Latest timing around 7am to 4pm for the line to push east with potential threats of damaging winds, small hail and a few tornadoes. SGA is outlined in a Slight/Marginal Risk ahead of a cold front sliding across the region.
Behind the boundary clearing but still mild with highs low 70s on Monday. Last round of rain moves in late night into early Tuesday. We’ll ring in the new year on a dry and cooler note with highs around 60°. Winter returns as colder air sends highs into the 50s and lows into 30s.
Happy New Year #SGA!
