Description
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An updated list of the lowest-performing public schools in Georgia was released by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA).
The new list includes 31 schools from Atlanta Public Schools, 22 from Clayton County Schools, 16 from Gwinnett County Schools, nine from Fulton County Schools and eight from Cobb County Schools.
Students zoned for those schools could be eligible to receive a $6,500 voucher for a private school education, which is part of the Georgia Promise Scholarship Act that lawmakers approved last year.
The act requires GOSA to compile a list of the lowest-performing Georgia public schools in the 25th percentile each year.
