ALBANY, Ga (WALB) - South Georgia voters will get a chance to bring rural issues directly to candidates seeking statewide office as the November general election approaches.

An Albany candidate forum taking place Tuesday, Oct. 6 will bring voters together to discuss issues affecting communities across South Georgia, including rural health care, agriculture, education, jobs and infrastructure.

The nonpartisan forum, organized by the Georgia Rural Voices Coalition and community partners, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Olive Faith Center in Albany.

Candidates running for state school superintendent, labor commissioner, agriculture commissioner, insurance commissioner and the Georgia Public Service Commission are expected to participate.

The forum comes as the Nov. 3 general election approaches.

WALB will speak with voters at Tuesday’s forum about the issues they want candidates to prioritize and why they believe South Georgia turnout will matter this election.
