NASHVILLE, Ga. (WALB) — The Berrien County Fire Department (BCFD) posted a thank-you message just after midnight on Monday, Aug. 10, after a barn owned by local firefighters went up in flames.

BCFD said several fire departments in the area responded to the scene at Vickers Farms late Sunday night.

Officials said the owners of Vickers Farms—Carlos, Lamar and Bradley Vickers—are all connected to firefighting. Carlos Vickers is the current East Berrien District Chief, Bradley Vickers is a firefighter and Lamar Vickers is a former East Berrien firefighter, BCFD said.

The fire department said that fire personnel from Nashville, Ray City, East Berrien and Atkinson County came to help put the fire out.

While no injuries were reported, BCFD said Vickers Farms lost a barn and part of their tobacco crop. The fire was reportedly contained to one barn.
