ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Museum of Art (AMA) announced they will host an event to celebrate upcoming high school graduates on April 12.

The event – Send Off Our Seniors – will give graduates an opportunity to personalize graduation caps. The teens can also enjoy complimentary pizza while they design, according to the museum. Any high schoolers are welcome to attend.

“This will be a fun send-off for our seniors who are getting ready to take their next big step in life, but all high school students can have pizza and paint graduation hats,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem said. “Seniors can tell their stories and capture their style on their hats. Younger students can design theirs as visual inspiration as they continue their high school careers.”

AMA said this event is one of their Student Art Studio Saturday sessions. It will be held in the AMA classroom from noon to 3 p.m.

The event has a $10 fee that covers pizza, refreshments and a graduation hat, the museum said. To register, you can visit their website.

AMA’s address is 311 Meadowlark Drive in Albany. AMA hosts Student Art Studio Saturday sessions every second Saturday of the month. Sessions are typically free of charge.

The last session of this school year is May 10, AMA said.
