GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — [UPDATE: 9/11/2026 @8:13 a.m.] - Officials with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook that the roadway is back open. The roadway reopened around 11:15 p.m.

WALB is still waiting for an update from Georgia State Patrol on the accident.

[ORIGINAL: 9/10/2026 @ 10:15 p.m.] - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) announced in a Facebook post this evening that both westbound lanes of Highway 84 in Whigham are closed until further notice.

This closure comes after a car wreck occurred this evening.

“Please avoid the area and use an alternate route if possible. Expect delays and allow extra time for travel.”
