Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Roads in Radium Springs and Putney are now under construction.
Dougherty County said in a press release that Oxford Construction began work Monday, Feb. 10. The company will resurface roads in the area, including Radium Springs Road.
The resurfacing should take about two weeks to finish, according to the release, but the exact timeline is dependent on the weather.
The county encourages drivers to be cautious while driving through the Radium Springs and Putney areas and to expect traffic delays there. They say to limit inconvenience, drivers should use alternate routes whenever possible.
This project is part of a larger Dougherty County initiative — the 2022-2023 Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG) Resurfacing project. The county says they hope this initiative will help improve local road conditions.
WALB is working to learn more details about specific roads affected.
