LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) — A truck crash downed three power poles in downtown Leesburg on Friday, Oct. 30.
According to the Leesburg Police Department, roads near Fourth Street and Walnut Avenue closed around 8:40 a.m. after the accident, and traffic was diverted around the GA-3 bypass between Linden Road and Jordan Road.
City workers told WALB at the scene that a truck hit a power pole, which pulled down two other poles, leaving live wires in the roadway.
Leesburg city officials said the roadway has partially reopened as utility workers and AT&T repair the 3 downed poles.

WALB has reached out to Leesburg police to learn more about the vehicle accident and whether anyone was hurt.
