Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A low-pressure system continues driving Gulf coast moisture into South Georgia through the night. This will keep a few showers and storms through the early morning on Monday. Temperatures to start Monday will sit in the 60s.
Coverage of showers and storms will turn more isolated to scattered by Monday. However, the amount of rainfall from storms will be robust, and a few severe storms will be possible. The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal Risk over the area, highlighting damaging winds and flash flooding as the highest threat, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
By Monday evening, shower coverage will diminish as the low-pressure system moves out of the region. Drier air will take over heading into Tuesday as the last few showers move through. Temperatures during this time will start to rebound into the 80s before warmer highs are back to close out the week. High pressure will drive in warm, westerly air to bring temperatures to the 90s through the next weekend.
