Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Record high temperatures continue into the early work week, but a passing cold front on Wednesday will cause afternoon temperatures to tumble into the low 60s on Thanksgiving. Ahead of the cold front, on Tuesday night and early Wednesday, SGA can expect to see a broken line of showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall will likely be scattered, not widespread, with chances clearing Wednesday night. This will leave us with mostly sunny skies for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
Unfortunately, there is a Marginal Risk (5% chance) for severe weather Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. If a severe thunderstorm does manage to develop, isolated flash flooding and damaging wind gusts will be possible. Remember, a sudden, heavy downpour on dry, compact soil is a recipe for flash flooding, even if it is brief. Rainfall will be isolated-scattered at best, with most areas seeing less than 0.5″.
