ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As teams in the National Football League are going through offseason minicamps, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is working in a different field.

According to Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Vincent Bonsignore, the reason for Bowers’ absence at voluntary workouts is because he’s back in Athens finishing his degree at the University of Georgia.

The former Bulldog majored in finance before he was selected by the Raiders with the 13th pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to the university, undergraduate student commencement is scheduled for Friday, May 9.

Bowers was a back-to-back John Mackey Award winner (2022, 2023) and a first-team All-American during his time at UGA.

In his rookie season, Bowers caught 112 catches for 1,192 yards and five touchdowns.
