TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) — A local ministry is hosting an upcoming community gathering designed to uplift and support South Georgia residents navigating life’s deepest challenges.
Minister Neda Jones, founder of Second Chance Ministries, is holding the inaugural “Purpose After The Pain” event on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Leroy Rogers Center in Tifton. Running from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the event is open to the public and focuses on guiding attendees through personal healing, spiritual perspective, and purpose.
Jones, an ordained minister, certified chaplain, and local business owner, said the vision for Second Chance Ministries developed from her own life journey, including losing both of her parents just five months apart as a child. After moving to Tifton a decade ago and volunteering with a local women’s shelter, she saw a growing need for broader community support and resource connection.
“Nobody goes through anything and it’s ever wasted,” Jones said. “Sometimes our perspective and the way we think about what we’re in and where we’re going, it matters. It matters about the people that you have in your life that speak into your life, that will help you see your situation from a different perspective.”
Jones will be joined by guest speaker Kamia. The gathering will feature personal testimonies, scripture discussions, interactive activities, and an open Q&A session connecting attendees with guidance and community resources.
Registration is $15, but Jones stressed that financial strain should not prevent anyone in need from attending.
“If you don’t have $15, don’t let that hinder you,” Jones said. “If you feel like this event may help you, come. If one word might change your whole perspective, it might change your life.”
Community members can find registration information and updates on Neda Jones’ Facebook page.
