STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A previously deported man who was back in the United States illegally was taken into custody Wednesday after the mother of a young teen alerted police to what her daughter said he did to her.

The Stuart Police Department (SPD) explained that the 14-year-old girl told her mother that the suspect, Apolinar Lopez Honorato, had touched her inappropriately. Her story prompted the girl’s mother to call police early Saturday morning.

Following their investigation, SPD officers arrested Honorato, 47, on a count of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 16 years of age.

The investigators also learned that not only was Honorato an undocumented immigrant, but that he had previously been deported.

The police department noted that they have alerted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
