LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) -A winning ticket was sold at a Shell gas station in Leesburg, Georgia.
In Georgia, two lottery players won one million dollars each on Sept. 3. This was part of the $1.7 billion Powerball jackpot. And in Leesburg, a lucky winner took home $50,000.
Charlotte Brooks works at the station and says the Shell gas station has always been lucky. She says sometimes people win $1,000 on scratch-offs.
“I was ecstatic because I couldn’t believe it,” Brooks said. “Just come shop at Shell in Leesburg, Georgia, and get your winning tickets, especially for the Fantasy Five.”
Five additional players also won 50,000 dollars on Sept. 3 in Augusta, Pinehurst, Macon, Dalton, and Atlanta.
It only takes $2 to play for a chance to win big. Powerball drawing is every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, at 11 p.m.
