LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Over 550 pounds of marijuana was recovered Aug. 11 morning during a traffic stop in Lowndes County, the sheriff’s office said.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said deputies stopped a black Dodge Ram ProMaster Van over a traffic violation made on Interstate 75 South.
Deputies reportedly searched the vehicle and found 18 cardboard boxes with packaged marijuana in them.
In total, 559.4 pounds of marijuana was recovered, LCSO said.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was identified as Yong Pan, LCSO said. Pan was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.
