Description
QUITMAN, Ga. (WALB) — New details were released Wednesday, March 11, by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in a Quitman homicide investigation.
Investigators reportedly found that the victim, 31-year-old Tamesha Bartee, was shot. Bartee was found unresponsive in a vehicle on Monday. She was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The vehicle where Bartee was found was at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of North Jefferson Street. The GBI said Bartee was a resident of that apartment complex.
The Quitman Police Department (QPD) said Monday evening that the suspect in this case is at large. They said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

The GBI did not provide further details about the suspect.
This investigation is active and ongoing, the GBI said. Bartee’s body was taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office.
