ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Now at 80, there’s nothing Nancy Woods can’t do.

“Nothing hurts. I don’t take any prescriptions at all,” Woods said.

She owns Nancy’s Flower Shop — selling beautiful and unique blossoms out of a little purple truck.

“It is so exciting you know? Meeting people every day, happy people, it is like I have a huge family,” Woods said.

Nancy started the business at 75 years young.

“At her age, this little business has given her newfound purpose and energy and she loves her customers and for me, it is a good opportunity to spend a lot of time with her,” said Jose Izaguirre, Nancy’s son.

The family helps grow the flowers, her son helps with operations. Woods works right alongside them.

“We are in this business because we like it,” Woods said. “We love people. We love to make people happy.”

We often think we have to have our lives all figured out, start early on things, or fail, but that isn’t always how it works out. There is always room to turn to something new, to turn a page, and create a new beginning.

“She just proves that it is never too late to start something new,” said Izaguirre.
