Description
MOULTRIE, Ga. (WALB) — The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration has awarded a $2.975 million grant to the Moultrie-Colquitt County Development Authority to fund infrastructure improvements at Citizens Business Park.
The grant will pay for new roads, drainage upgrades, gravity sewer, water, natural gas line extensions, electrical conduit and a stormwater retention pond.
Grant aimed at manufacturing
Local leaders said the work is critical to supporting a committed manufacturing project and preparing the remainder of the park for future industry, jobs and long-term economic growth.
The authority was the only community in Georgia to receive an EDA grant in this round and one of a select number of projects funded nationwide.
Construction timelines and additional project details are expected to be announced as the project moves forward.
