Description
CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) announced May 2 that they made a major drug bust in Cairo.
In a press release, GCSO said they found approximately 433 grams of cocaine, 120 grams of ecstasy, three pounds of marijuana and 80 grams of a drug-laced edible known as “cornbread.” That makes a total of approximately 1,993.78 grams of various drugs.
This bust led to the arrest of 68-year-old Annie Horton, officials said. The release said she was arrested at the scene – a residence on 7th Avenue in Cairo.
Horton’s son, 44-year-old Bryant Lakeith Horton, fled from the residence, GCSO said. The release said he was out on bond from a prior drug-related arrest.
Now, the sheriff’s office said both Annie and Bryant Horton are facing charges including:
- Trafficking in cocaine
- Trafficking in illicit drugs
- Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
- Obstruction of law enforcement
GCSO said the Georgia State Patrol assisted in this case. GCSO is encouraging anyone with information about where Bryant Lakeith Horton may be to contact their local law enforcement agency.
