FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A 30-year-old Minnesota man is facing multiple charges after Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) officials said he traveled 1,200 miles to Virginia to engage in "illicit acts" with a minor he met on TikTok.

Fairfax County police arrested Trent Fair on Saturday after responding to a home in the 2000 block of Blue Ridge Court near Reston for a report of the solicitation of a minor.

Police said the child’s father discovered Fair with their 15-year-old child inside the residence.

Detectives with the Child Exploitation Unit took over the investigation and determined that Fair had met the teen through the TikTok app before traveling from Minnesota to Virginia "to engage in illicit acts with the victim."

Fair is charged with four counts of Solicitation of a Minor, five counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

Police also urged parents to "closely monitor their children’s online activities and use available security settings to prevent the use of inappropriate sites or platforms."

Children are also encouraged to report any person engaging in inappropriate conversations or trying to coerce them into providing sexually explicit images of themselves. More information can be found here.
