Description
WALB - Melissa is forecast to strengthen to a Major Hurricane with a very slow pass around Jamaica early in the week.
They may experience Hurricane Force winds for a number of days, and also catastrophic flooding. That threat then goes into eastern Cuba and the Southern Bahamas mid-week.
Melissa is expected to pick up forward speed as it gets picked up by frontal system and heads it out to sea. At this time the threat to the eastern U.S. seaboard is minimal.
