ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -A Dougherty county murder case will finally go to trial this week after nearly 6 years.
Right now, a jury is being finalized to hear the 2019 case of 22-year-old Nykeah Gilbert, who was shot and killed on Thanksgiving day of the same year. The defendant, Marcus Carter, is accused of killing Gilbert.
Carter is charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, felony murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
