COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A man in Coffee County was arrested and charged with rape and child molestation after one victim, who is a minor, came to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) with several years of alleged sexual abuse.

28-year-old Juan Delgado later admitted to the CCSO that he inappropriately touched two girls when they were about 12 years old and that he raped one of them, CCSO said. Delgado is now charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of first-degree rape, the sheriff’s office said.

CCSO said that this arrest came after a comprehensive investigation into allegations brought in a report on June 10, 2025. The report said that the inappropriate behavior occurred over several years.

The victim told CCSO that the alleged abuse started when she was in the fifth grade. CCSO said that the most recent incident was reportedly on June 5, 2025.

According to the sheriff’s office, the girl said she didn’t immediately report the abuse because she didn’t understand the crimes, and she was afraid of repercussions. CCSO said she chose to come forward after learning that a family member allegedly suffered similar abuse from Delgado.

Delgado is being held in the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, according to the CCSO.

The sheriff’s office said they are committed to protecting the community and holding perpetrators accountable. They encourage any other victims or witnesses to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
