MILLER COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A Colquitt man is in federal custody after an online bomb threat targeting the Miller County Sheriff’s Office was intercepted by the FBI, authorities announced.

Colten Sorensen was arrested following a joint investigation by the FBI, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

“The safety of our community is our highest priority. We appreciate the swift response and strong partnership among all agencies involved, which helped ensure this threat was addressed quickly and effectively.”

According to a Facebook post, the Sheriff is reassuring citizens that threats of violence against law enforcement or the public are taken seriously and will be investigated to the fullest extent of the law. He is also encouraging anyone with information regarding potential criminal activity or potential threats to contact law enforcement.
