GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A man’s Sunday cruise took an unexpected detour when Grady County deputies pulled him over for DUI and speeding.
According to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), the incident began in Cairo after residents reported a car speeding through town. A deputy soon clocked the vehicle going 88 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone on Highway 112 near Harrell Road.
After the stop, deputies quickly realized the man, later identified as Vincent West, 55, wasn’t just driving fast—he was also driving under the influence.

Grady County Sheriff Earl Prince shared in a Facebook post, “If you keep fooling around, you’re gonna find out the hard way.” In this case, that meant an express trip to the Grady County Detention Center—no GPS required.
The driver now faces charges of DUI, speeding and failure to maintain lanes. While his Sunday “fun day” ended in handcuffs, officials are using the moment as a serious reminder of the dangers of impaired and reckless driving.
