AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - Event organizers said the Magnolia Blossom Festival is back on for May 15 through 18 in Americus. The festival is meant to be a celebration of family, culture, good and fun, they said.

Organizers said entry to the festival, located at the Americus-Sumter County Fairgrounds, is free of charge. They said this year’s festival will be the biggest yet. It features attractions from Reithoffer Shows, which is the carnival company known for the Georgia National Fair in Perry, according to organizers.

The Magnolia Blossom Festival is said to feature rides, food vendors, artisan booths, live music and more.

“Americus has always had a strong sense of community, and the Magnolia Blossom Festival reflects that spirit,” said Javarise Jamele Terry, Event Organizer. “This year, we’re expecting over 15,000 attendees and have worked tirelessly to ensure a safe and exciting experience for families from across Georgia and beyond.”

Event organizers said this festival is more than an event – it’s meant to boost tourism, support local businesses and foster tradition.

The remaining Magnolia Blossom Festival hours are as follows:

  • Friday, May 16: 5 p.m. – Midnight
  • Saturday, May 17: Noon – Midnight
  • Sunday, May 18: 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Organizers said the event will have on-site security and safety measures provided by local law enforcement agencies. They said the festival is for all ages to enjoy.
