LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - The Lowndes County’s 911 center was recently awarded the Communications/911 Center of the Year Award.
The honor was recently announced at the Georgia Emergency Communications Conference for the center’s“exceptional professionalism, leadership, innovation, and service to the community it serves,” according to a press release from the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners.

Lowndes County 911 has 41 staff members and serves residents in Lowndes County and Echols County. In 2024, the center received and managed 101,098 emergency calls, 153,800 non-emergency calls, and a total of 229,017 calls for service, according to the county.
“We are incredibly proud of our dedicated 911 team for their unwavering commitment to serving our community,” Paige Dukes, Lowndes County Manager said. “This award reflects their hard work, professionalism, and dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens.”
