We mourn the passing of Jimmy Carter, peanut farmer and 39th President of the United States. President Carter passed way today at the age of 100. Through the years he has been an advocate for the peanut industry and shared his story to a number of visitors to Plains for the Georgia Peanut Tour and the Plains Peanut Festival. President Carter was inducted into the Georgia Peanut Commissionâs Hall of Fame and the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame. Our prayers are with the Carter family during this time.
