PLYMOUTH COUNTY, Mass. (Gray News) — A juror from the Lindsay Clancy trial is speaking out.
Paula Devlin served as a juror in the case. She spoke recently in an interview with WJAR about various topics, including the trial testimony and tense deliberations after closing arguments.
Clancy admitted to killing her three children in January 2023. She was charged with murder in connection to the strangulation deaths.

Her attorneys defended she was not criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis.
“She didn’t know what she was doing. Now she does,” Devlin said during the interview.
Prosecutors argued Clancy’s actions were deliberate.
“There was no evidence presented to us that showed us anything other than a loving, wonderful person in every aspect,” Devlin said.

The judge declared a mistrial on Sept. 4 after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict due to a single juror holdout, leaving the case unresolved.
“We tried to listen to each other and even people that had opposing things,” Devlin said. “If they had a piece of evidence that really made them feel strongly the way they were feeling, I wanted to understand that because I wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing, looking at all the evidence.”
Plymouth County prosecutors could retry Clancy in the case. Devlin does not believe Clancy or another set of jurors should go through the process again.
“I feel like 11 to one speaks volumes, and I don’t think it would be in anybody’s interest to put all of these people through all of this again,” Devlin said.
Defense attorney Kevin Reddington said Clancy is currently in psychiatric care at a state-run facility in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
A court hearing at the end of September could determine the next steps.
