LEESBURG, Ga. — Lee County investigators began looking into Gregory Walter in December 2025 for sexual crimes against children and learned he had left Georgia for Connecticut, according to authorities.

Deputies obtained arrest warrants, and, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, and public safety personnel at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport, Walter was taken into custody on March 8.

Walter faces four counts of child molestation and one count of aggravated sodomy.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to call.
