VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Drivers in Valdosta should expect traffic delays as the City’s Central Lines Division works to install a new valve on N. Ashley Street.

The installation is taking place at 1508 N. Ashley Street. To ensure the safety of both work crews and motorists, the southbound lane of N. Ashley Street was closed at 8:30 a.m. this morning from Vallotton Drive to E. Brookwood Drive.

City officials encourage drivers to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and prepare for possible delays in the area.

Once the installation is complete and the lane has been reopened, the Central Lines Division will notify the public.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as we continue making improvements to Valdosta’s infrastructure,” city officials said.

Stay tuned to WALB for updates on traffic impacts and project completion.
