Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -Jury selection continues in the murder trial of Dougherty County mother, Evelyn Odom, who is accused of killing her daughter, Kenyatta “Keke” Odom, nearly 37 years ago.
Kenyatta’s remains were found in 1988 in the woods of Ware County, encased in a television cabinet with concrete poured inside.
Court documents show that Kenyatta died from having parts of her body put in hot water and burned.
Kenyatta was known as “Baby Jane Doe” for decades, and arrests in her case did not come until November 2023, when advances in new DNA technology led investigators back to Evelyn and her then live-in boyfriend, Ulyster Sanders.
Sanders pled guilty on one count of concealing the death of another and one count of concealing material facts related to Kenyatta’s death. Now, he is expected to testify against Evelyn Odom during the trial.
WALB will continue to follow this case, and we will bring you the latest details both on air and online.
