IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A vehicle passing through Irwin County was stopped by agents with the South Central Drug Task Force (SCDTF) and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) during what they call a “proactive vehicle traffic stop”.
According to SCDTF, it was determined during a roadside interview with the driver and passenger that the driver was trafficking approximately 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine originating from the Tift County area.
They say, “Whether narcotics are coming through or coming to Irwin County, the South Central Drug Task Force stays ready to intercept the threat and protect our communities from the destructive impact of drugs.”
SCDTF thanked the local partners who assisted with this operation and said that they remain committed to protecting the community from the dangers of illegal narcotics.
