CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A high-speed chase out of Houston County ended in a fatal crash in Crisp County.
That crash happened Thursday, Feb. 20, on I-75 near mile marker 103 in Crisp County, according to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Troopers responded to I-75 southbound in Crisp County for a call for assistance in reference to a pursuit initiated by the Houston County Sheriff’s Department. As Troopers entered I-75, the fleeing vehicle, a Range Rover carrying three people passed their patrol vehicles in the left lane, crossed all lanes of southbound travel, and entered onto the west shoulder where it struck the rear of a stationary tractor trailer.
All the occupants in the Range Rover where pronounced dead at the scene.
GSP said the people travelling in the Range Rover had stolen it from LaGuardia Airport in New York City on Feb. 14.
