SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 26, this year.

City and county offices, schools, libraries, and banks will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Grocery stores

• Sam’s Club will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for regular Club members.
• Publix will operate on regular store hours, however, the pharmacy will be closed in observance of the holiday.

• Food Lion will operate on regular store hours.

Retailers

• Burlington will be open on regular hours—9 a.m. to 10 p.m.—on Memorial Day.
• Home Depot and Lowe’s will operate on their regular store hours.

• Target will be open; however, store hours vary by location. Click here to see when your local Target store is open.
• TJ Maxx will be open, however, store hours vary by location. Click here to see when your local TJ Maxx store is open.
• Walmart stores will operate on regular store hours, which are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Restaurants

• 3 Squares Diner will operate at normal hours on Memorial Day.
• Arby’s will operate at normal hours on Memorial Day.
• Austin’s Firegrill and Oyster Bar in Albany will operate at normal business hours on Memorial Day.
• Checkers will operate at normal hours on Memorial Day.

• Wendy’s will operate at normal hours on Memorial Day.

Events

• The American Legion Post 515 is working with other Coffee County organizations to host a Memorial Day program and dedication of State Route 206 from 9-10 a.m. at Williams Institutional Foods in Douglas.
• Downtown Tifton is holding a Memorial Day Tribute at 11 a.m. at Jack Stone Veterans Park amphitheater.
