Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — As the state continues to mourn the loss of Gwinnett County Police Officer Pradeep Tamang, who died in the line of duty on Sunday, Feb. 1, Governor Brian Kemp has issued an executive order directing flags to be lowered throughout Georgia as a mark of respect.
In honor of Officer Tamang’s life and sacrifice, Governor Kemp ordered that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol building and in Gwinnett County on Saturday, Feb. 7—the day of Officer Tamang’s memorial service—until sunset.
The executive order reads: “It is fitting and proper to recognize Officer Tamang’s service to the citizens of Gwinnett County by lowering the flags on the State Capitol building and in Gwinnett County to half-staff.”

As the community grieves, officials are also keeping Master Officer David Reed in their prayers as he recovers from injuries sustained during the same incident.
