ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Georgia Jan. 6 rioter previously pardoned by President Donald Trump has been arrested again after posting threatening messages on social media, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia.

Cleveland Grover Meredith Jr., 58, faces one count of interstate threats. He was arrested on Monday and placed in U.S. Marshals Service custody before his detention hearing set for Thursday.

Meredith’s count is related to a Facebook post he allegedly made on April 23, 2026, saying “All J6 Federal JUDGES will be EXECUTED!” Google IP information shows the man from Sautee Nacoochee in White County accessed the internet in Canton that day, according to his criminal complaint affidavit.

But a supplemental motion for detention outlines additional alleged threats, including several related to the midterms. On Oct. 6, he posted, “Make damn sure that you’re on the right team going into the midterms...firing squads will commence on Wednesday, 11/04/26,” the affidavit says.

Then on Oct. 14, he allegedly posted, “Mark this post, my sheeple: The midterms will be an absolute MASSACRE.”

Before his pardon, Meredith pleaded guilty to interstate threats in September 2021. He admitted to driving into Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6 that year, armed with a pistol, a rifle, about 2,500 rounds of ammunition and 10 large-capacity ammunition feeding devices.

The next day, he also texted a relative in Georgia, saying he would “put a bullet” in the head of then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, according to his affidavit.

Meredith was among the nearly 1,600 people charged in connection with the riots who were granted clemency by Trump on his first day back in office in 2025.
