VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating an officer’s death at Valdosta Municipal Court, according to Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan.
Police requested that the GBI conduct an independent investigation. The department said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no active threat to the community.
Police directed additional questions about the circumstances of the incident to the GBI.
Municipal Court will not be in session on its scheduled court date, Oct. 8, according to the city.
The city said court proceedings will resume Tuesday, Nov. 10. If you have any court-related matters, you are advised to plan accordingly.
