AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - Students at Furlow Charter School in Americus were temporarily relocated Friday after a power outage affected the school.
According to a Facebook post from the Americus Police Department, students were taken by bus to the Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Storm Dome, where parents were able to pick them up.
Georgia Power said the outage was caused by a bad wire on a transformer at the school.
Officials said all students were safe following the incident.
The Americus Police Department shared information about the situation on social media to notify parents and the community.
WALB will continue to provide updates if additional information about the outage or the school’s operations becomes available.
