AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - The Americus-Sumter Fuller Center for housing is looking for volunteers to help them put the finishing touches on a home being prepared for a mother of seven.
WALB reported in April that organizers were close to having the home ready for the family to move in, but the center says the lack of current volunteers has contributed to a few delays.
The Fuller Center’s Executive Director Jody Wade wants to have the home completed by the end of next week. He hopes that with help from the public, that goal can become a reality.
“Two doors need to be finished. We have to put towel bars and tissue holders up in the bathrooms. We got a little bit of countertop to finish and will probably need some volunteers to lay the [things] when [they] come. Those are the top things,” Wade said.
Volunteers will be needed next week to help with the completion of this home. For more information on how you can volunteer, call Jody Wade at 229-621-0259.
