Description
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Sunday afternoon, Fort Eisenhower Exchange received a threatening message, prompting immediate security measures, including briefly closing access to the post and issuing a shelter in place for nearby activities, including the Candlewood Suites, according to officials.
The Department of Emergency Services responded, and at approximately 2:45 p.m., an all clear was issued and affected activities returned to normal operating status, officials say.
No credible threats were detected.
They appreciate the quick response of our emergency responders and the cooperation of everyone affected during this brief incident.
A full investigation is in progress.
