DAWSON, Ga. (WALB) — Former Terrell County Sheriff John Bowens has died, according to the sheriff’s department’s Facebook page.

Bowens served Terrell County for more than 30 years.

The Facebook post said he was a great man who worked tirelessly for the families of Terrell County. The department expressed condolences to his family.
